We've discovered recently that the joy of the Small Grin has been known to a select section of the musical community for quite some time now.

The book "The Art of French Horn Playing" (Phillip Farkas) 1956 has several examples of attempted Small Grins. It seems that the Art of Playing the French Horn is indeed a step towards creating a model Small Grin. Below are some extracts illlustrating this wonderfully documented attempt;
